What you are packaging
A necklace is the longest and flattest item in a jewelry box, and that shape drives everything else. Three specific risks matter:
- Chain compression. A chain dropped into a deep box tangles and, on textured metal or a fine link, can mark itself. The chain needs to lie flat, in a shallow and roughly rectangular footprint.
- Pendant clearance. A pendant adds local thickness. If the box interior is shallower than the pendant at that one point, the lid presses on it in transit.
- Clasp presentation. The clasp is the part a customer handles first. If it is buried under folds of chain, the box fails at the moment of first impression.
Recommended box structure
For a full-length necklace we recommend the centre-opening (double-door) box shown here: the two halves part from the centre and both sides open, instead of the box hinging on one edge. Two things follow from that. First, the necklace lies flat across the full width rather than being folded into a small footprint. Second, the customer opens the box along the chain’s length, so the clasp and pendant are visible in the first movement.
Note the trade-off, which is why this structure is specific to necklaces: because the two halves separate at the centre for opening, a small ring or a pair of earrings would sit loose in the larger cavity and the halves would not close as firmly. For rings and studs a drawer box or a hinged lid box is the better answer. For the necklace format itself, the flat, broad panel is what makes the structure work.

Branding options
The whole outer surface of both halves is printable, and the inner tray is a second branded surface. Typical combinations are your logo in gold foil on the outer lid with a plain foil line inside, or a printed pattern across the base panel with the logo blind-embossed. Logo artwork will need 1-3 days, and dielines are free.
Sampling & production
Sampling takes 5-10 days, with custom sample fees from US$50 to US$210 depending on structure and finishing. Once your order is placed, a free pre-production sample is confirmed by photo or video before mass production. Production is 18-25 days for regular orders, 10-15 days for small runs and 25-30 days for soft-touch or special shapes, starting 1-3 days after sample approval.

FAQ
Can the box hold a necklace plus a pair of earrings?
Yes, if we plan it in from the start. We would build a fixed tray for the necklace and a separate recessed compartment sized to the earrings, rather than letting the earrings share the open cavity.
What is the minimum order quantity?
300 pcs for the standard version, 500 pcs when the size or design is customized, and 1,000 pcs when a logo, Pantone spot color or new moulding is required.
Will the two halves stay closed in transit?
For the centre-opening format we add a friction fit and, for shipments, a corrugated outer carton or a paper belly band. Tell us how the box travels and we will specify which of these to use.
