Protecting what is inside
A pouch is a soft pack, so it cannot rely on wall thickness for protection. The protection comes from three things instead: the internal surface, the closure, and how tightly the bag is filled.
- Surface abrasion. Polished silver, gold plate and resin cabochons mark against a coarse fabric. Flocked or velvet interiors are the safe default for jewelry; canvas and linen are fine for non-polished items but should not be the contact layer for a mirror finish.
- Rattling. A bag filled to less than roughly two-thirds of its capacity lets contents slide, so pieces knock together. Sizing the pouch down, or adding a small padded insert, removes most transit damage without extra cost.
- Closure security. A drawstring closes on a gathered neck, which is secure under normal handling but can open in a tumble-filled carton. For export cartons we add a small tamper band or pack pouches in a rigid outer.
One process decision matters more than the rest here: the logo method. Compression embossing – called label pressing in the pouch trade – physically presses a depression into the fabric surface. Because it works on velvet, satin, cotton, canvas and PU alike, it gives you one consistent brand treatment across a mixed material range, and it cannot peel or wash off the way a printed or transferred mark can. Hot stamping and silk screen are the alternatives when you need color or metallic contrast rather than relief.

Fit tolerance & testing
Fabric pouches are soft goods, so dimensions carry a wider tolerance than a rigid box: expect around 3-5 mm of variation on a finished pouch. Two practical consequences. First, quote the internal size at the pouch neck, not the flat measurement, because the drawstring gathers the opening. Second, size the pouch about 10-15 percent larger than the item’s largest dimension so the fabric closes without strain.
For jewelry we recommend a drop test on a full carton rather than on a single pouch, since the failure mode is usually the pouch moving inside the carton rather than the pouch itself opening. We can run that with your packing configuration.

Material & finishing
Fabric dye lots vary. If you are matching a pouch to an existing box, send us the box and we will dye to it rather than to a screen reference. Embossed logos need a metal die, which is a one-off cost justified from the 1,000 pcs tier and above; below that, silk screen or a woven label is the cheaper route.
Lead time & MOQ
Sampling takes 5-10 days, with custom sample fees from US$50 to US$210 depending on fabric and finishing. Once your order is placed, a free pre-production sample is confirmed by photo or video before mass production. Production is 18-25 days for regular orders, 10-15 days for small runs and 25-30 days for specialty fabric or special shapes, starting 1-3 days after sample approval.

FAQ
Will the embossed logo stay on after repeated handling?
Yes. Compression embossing deforms the fabric rather than adding a layer on top of it, so there is nothing to peel or flake. On very fine fabrics the relief is shallower, so send us the exact fabric before committing to the die.
Can you match our existing pouch color?
Send a physical sample. Fabric dye lots shift between runs, so we match to your sample rather than to a Pantone number alone.
What is the minimum order quantity?
300 pcs for the standard version, 500 pcs when the size or design is customized, and 1,000 pcs when a logo, Pantone spot color or new moulding is required.
